5 Habits of happiness

Workshops

The Growing with Gratitude Sports (GWGS) program and workshops build and protect young athlete’s mental well-being. We do this by teaching skills through sport based on gratitude, kindness, empathy, positive reflection and service, resulting in greater resilience and happiness. We help do this during training sessions and matches. Furthermore, we are teaching athletes the skills to move forward from adversity and challenges, as well as teaching them to be good citizens.

We run player and coach workshops. We show coaches how they can incorporate gratitude, kindness, empathy, positive reflection and service into training sessions and matches.

Online Digital Platform

Players and coaches will also get access to the GWGS Players and Coaches Playbooks and the digital online resources.

"The Goodwood Saints FC have been involved with Growing with Gratitude Sports (GWGS) for the past three years. Not only does GWGS build and protect our players mental health, but we as a club have also seen a culture change in our players behaviour and attitude. Our coaches have noted players helping more after training to pack up, ensuring the change rooms are clean before they leave, going out of their way to thank volunteers, and in particular umpires, and just appreciating what they have.
GWGS teaches athletes the skills to overcome adversity and challenges, as well as teaching them to be good citizens and considering where the world is now, excellent skills to possess. Parents have also noted the difference in the team’s overall behaviour and their one team approach to most things. This has been as a direct result of the GWGS program. GWGS has assisted in our club’s endeavour to be an inclusive, developing and caring football club."
